About galleryDK
Located at 1332 Queen Street West, galleryDK is an artist-run space that specializes in contemporary urban photography. The gallery seeks to present photographic and photo-based work examining and exploring all facets of the urban experience - not only in Toronto, but around the world. The gallery is open Thursdays through Sunday, from 12pm-5pm, and by appointment otherwise.

Opening this week!

Only 3 more days between now and opening! I can’t believe we are 99% done and will be opening our doors to the public this Thursday. It has been a lot of work, an incredible amount to be exact. I think we will all agree that we will never do something like this again. The funny thing about not knowing what you are doing, not only does it take forever, but you have no idea how long it will take. But damn, does it ever look good!

And have a look at what we started with and the almost finished product.

So come on out April 10th and see for yourself!

Submissions

So far the response to the call for submissions has been outstanding - we have received work from all manner of artist. We do need to remind people, though, that we are a photo-based gallery and as such are looking for only that type of work. We need more, we want to see what everyone out there has to offer. We know it is hard to submit to a gallery that is not even open yet, but trust us, it’s coming soon!
